My Faith in the US Postal Service is Restored

This year, I had to purchase 26 books for my college courses. Whoadamn, right? 15 plays, 6 reference books, and 5 novels. A portion came by fedex, a handful by UPS. Most came by the mailbox, actually. I was pleasantly surprised to find the timeliness of the USPS. When I was growing up (I suppose I still am, considering I'm only 19) there was all this negative energy about the postal service. You know, they're always losing things, and calling it snail mail.

So, last week, I ordered the 9th Birthday Deviantwear tee shirt. And it came today! :D I was quite thrilled. It's pretty. And, and, I love how thin it is. Unfortunately, the only outing I'm taking today is to work, and there I have a uniform. :) But, I love the postal service now. And as far as ordering stuff from DA it's like... 5 dollars cheaper. And we're artists, so we know how far 5 dollars can stretch. :D

Peace out,
BBR

PS. Did anyone else See Magique with Cali?

So, I'm getting a tablet.

I've been thinking for quite some time. And, I haven't produced anything worthy of posting. This I know.

I've always wanted a tablet, because drawing with a mouse is insanely tedious, and if you think now that I've switched to a laptop, I'm going ot use the touchpad. You're insane.
So, now that I can afford it (birthday), I am going purchase one.
I'm thinking. Bamboo Fun Medium.

Any thoughts?

So, when I was in High School, I did this really awesome thing called FIRST Robotics. I don't know if anyone else has ever heard of it. But you basically build a robot in 6 weeks (it's really big, like 5 feet tall, and 120 pounds), program it and compete. :) My team was pretty good at it.
The program as a whole is not totally about Robots, there's a whole spreading the word part to it. The founders want you to be active in your community, and act with gracious professionalism. It's all about giving back, which I do now that I've graduated.
Their mission is to spread the interest in science and technology.

So, my team launched a project, about trying to spread the word across the world. The two founders Dean Kamen (inventor of Segway) and Woodie Flowers (teacher at MIT) are all about that.
The kids on my team, which I now mentor, created little caricatures, that are downloadable and printable. We sent them to teams, universities, friends and family.
What you do is take a picture with them and send it back.

My question is would any of you wonderful people, especially those outside the US, want to take part in this project?

Love, Rose

Time- If only there was more.

Spring semester started, and I'm mentoring my high school robotics team. I'm still dating that guy (yeah, I'm totally in love with him), and working between 10 and 15 hours a week. My mom misses me, and I can barely keep on top of everything. I miss having spare time.

So, I'm thinking of buying one of those Bamboo Fun tablets.

I Could Possibly Be Terribly Lucky?

School started, just in case you were wondering. It's taking a lot out of me, and pretty much my health, and free time. Not to mention it cleaned out my savings account, and I had to borrow from family because my parents credit is so bad I couldn't get a loan from any sort of financial institution.
So, my art has suffered. Not really- because I'm still doodling in my notebook, I just haven't been scanning my Binder in lately. It's a hassel. Hmn. I can't remember how to spell that.

Today, I got a 1700$ grant from my university, which was a miracle because I was going to have to drop out next semester without it. So, Huzzah.

Erm. I still work. The holidays are coming. I'm terribly excited for that. It'll be my first Holidays with a someone since... Well, my sophomore year of high school.
On that note, I am still seeing a boy. It'll be 7 months on Saturday. He's smart, and handsome, and he loves me. So yay.

The world keeps turning, and I try to keep my head above water.
